Children who attend KM2A’s Preschool Program will be able to do the following:
- Use their communication skills and proper behavior to help them lead a successful preschool career and get their life off to a solid start.
- Use their curiosity to explore the world around themselves and practice problem-solving skills necessary for experiences within their everyday lives.
- Develop a strong foundation for academic work due to our play-based system of learning. This system is both mathematically and scientifically proven to increase childrens’ ability to learn.
- Be trained in proper basic living habits through repetition of teachers and staff.
Our most important goal is to train children so that their basic living habits will be established in order for them to approach everything with a balanced mind. These habits will be reinforced through continuous teaching and development.
KM2A Preschool is both play-based and academic-based. Through play, children informally learn and develop many of the following skills: Social, Language, Mathematics, Science, Problem Solving, and Conflict Resolution. Our academic program implements a curriculum that is consistent with our goals for children and promotes learning and development in each of the following areas: Social, Emotional, Physical, Language and Cognitive. Guided by the Zoophonics and STEM program, our curriculum is rooted in the belief that children learn through play and direct instruction.
The environment is designed to be child-centered and to provide opportunities to explore and learn. We are also guided by our observations and assessments of children and utilize this information in our curriculum planning. Our curriculum is fluid, and changing as the needs of the children currently enrolled in that classroom change.
